Story
Hi, I’m the author behind Heartfelt Books — and the heart behind every page.
Born and raised on the Gold Coast, Australia, I’ve always felt drawn to making the world a little kinder. Whether it was fundraising for the Heart Foundation, participating in the 24-Hour Famine at school, or volunteering as a Pyjama Angel working with children in care, one thing has always been clear to me: kindness is free, and making someone smile is always worth it.
My love for storytelling started young. I dreamed of writing books that would be read in libraries, cafes, kids' clubs — anywhere people could share moments of joy, colour, and connection. While I had big dreams of being a singer too, it turns out children’s books offered the perfect creative stage.
Heartfelt Books was born from both memory and meaning. After my beautiful Finnish grandmother (“Mummi”) passed away — a woman who spent much of her life as a librarian — I felt called to honour her. I wrote and illustrated a story about one of our funniest shared moments. Sharing it with family brought smiles, tears, and a sense of closeness that reminded me just how powerful stories can be. Publishing it felt like placing a piece of her right back into the library shelves she loved.
From there, I began writing with intention — creating books filled with affirmations, warmth, humour, and heart. My affirmation books, inspired by real conversations and real children, have been shared in classrooms, homes, and even donated to kids facing difficult home lives. The feedback has been humbling: not only are the kids uplifted, but parents and carers feel the power of the words too. Saying something often enough, you start to believe it.
That’s what Heartfelt Books is about:
Empowering little hearts. Encouraging big love. Reminding all of us — young or old — that we are enough.
